Every Dongfeng EV is built on a dedicated electric platform with the battery integrated low between the axles, inside a reinforced structural frame. The pack sits within the strongest part of the vehicle, shielded from impacts on every side.

A high-strength steel body structure, dedicated crash load paths and underbody armour protect the pack from punctures, kerbs and debris — while the low mounting position also lowers the centre of gravity for safer, flatter handling.

Armoured enclosure

The pack lives in a sealed, reinforced housing engineered to resist crushing, puncture and water ingress — tested well beyond everyday driving conditions.

Intelligent battery management

A battery management system monitors every cell group continuously — voltage, current and temperature — and intervenes long before a fault can develop.

Active thermal control

Liquid cooling and heating keep the cells in their happy temperature window — protecting range in a Pretoria summer and battery life over the years.

Charging safeguards

Charging power is managed dynamically, with automatic cut-offs for over-voltage, over-current and over-temperature on both AC and DC charging.

Yes. The battery, connectors and charging system are sealed and rated for wet conditions. Charging plugs only deliver power once a secure, dry connection is confirmed.

The high-voltage system is designed to disconnect automatically in a collision, and the pack itself sits inside the strongest part of the structure with dedicated crash protection.
